Nexus Telecom scores a Winner at the Football World Cup with Service Verification per Mobile Cell
July 29, 2010 - Zurich, Switzerland
Nexus Telecom, a specialist in telecom network investigation tools has installed its NexusVERIFIER at MTN, a major South African Telecom Operator, to help the company cope with increased traffic and complexity and guarantee additional revenues during the World Cup event.
Any major event brings logistical nightmares to its organizers and its supporting infrastructure. This is particularly true with regard to telecom services and networks, which are subjected to local peak loads with the presence of increased international traffic on such occasions. As an example, the cell antennas at airports and railway stations had to be optimized for MTN, a major South African telecom operator, to capture the incoming international roaming visitors for the football World Cup. How can one be sure however that all international SIM cards will work on MTN's network, and that revenue sources will not be compromised?
Enter NexusVERIFIER, Nexus Telecom's service test system. Securely loaded with a range of international SIM cards, the solution can simulate calls in any cell in a given network from an operator's desk. Campaigns can be scheduled effortlessly to take each international SIM card and make location updates, voice mail checks on behalf of each operator, send SMS or MMS and make calls. Thanks to the NexusVERIFIER's high load capability, these tests can also be performed in the shortest time, or scheduled beforehand all over the network as was the case here to prepare for the arrival of additional potential revenue during the football World Cup.
From the comfort of an operator's desk, NexusVERIFIER can simulate any SIM customer's activity, without having any other hardware deployed in the cells. With the unit's core IP network connection interface, one can also access any media switch controllers through the gateways and simulate the signaling as if the call was coming from any base-station's cell controlled by and configured in the switch. In addition, NexusVERIFIER can easily check that if anybody upgrades Switch SW in the network updates, all the service features are correctly functioning before putting the Switch back into service.
With NexusVERIFIER's comprehensive reporting and alarming, service quality is kept at a high standard. For a surprisingly small outlay, NexusVERIFIER can reach every cell in a given network and bring peace of mind to the operator while maximizing revenue opportunities.
"We are very proud to have brought our own contribution to the World Cup and helped MTN make it a success while dealing with the considerable added challenges." says Martin Meisenburg, Nexus Telecom's Testing Business Unit Manager. "NexusVERIFIER is the solution of choice to improve customer experience and guarantee services revenues, especially under such demanding conditions".
