NexusMEDIATION – Billing Mediation Solution

Securing Your Revenues

Conversion, Mapping, Aggregation and Correlation

The raw usage data records are validated and converted into a highly versatile Nexus-engineered internal data format. When the input or output CDR format is altered, the business-rule driven conversion mechanism avoids cumbersome code changes and enables dynamic configuration as required. Thus CDRs are converted from the Nexus internal format to customer-defined output formats.

The mapping rules are configured using the Java GUI and are loaded at runtime, permitting dynamic changes - and evading system re-boot.

Manual correction and re-processing of erroneous CDRs is something of the past. NexusMEDIATION detects lost or erroneous charging data records and - following relevant configuration changes via the GUI - forwards them into the highly automated re-processing chain. NexusMEDIATION also detects errors in the charging data flow resulting from configuration problems, as well as latent errors in the charging data flow due to capacity problems or inefficient load balancing.

Multiple charging data records belonging to one event, session or context are aggregated to one record. The most frequent use case for this feature is the aggregation of intermediate tickets belonging to long duration sessions (i.e. voice calls or data sessions). Usage data from different data sources can also be correlated. A typical use case in this instance would be for node-specific rating distributed over multiple nodes in the network, in which case NexusMEDIATION would concentrate rating on a single point in order to reduce your OPEX.

High Capacity Distribution

NexusMEDIATION in its role of comprehensive telecom billing mediation solution, supports multi-protocol distribution of collected and converted charging data to the billing system or to any other downstream OSS/BSS system (e.g. MVNOs).

Total Transparency

NexusMEDIATION extensively supports multi-level logging, flexible reporting and ad-hoc data analysis. Business-rule driven alarms and SNMP alerts can be set up, and KPIs defined to spot any problem as it occurs. All this, plus a comprehensive audit trail, can be distributed to OSS systems using standard mechanisms while remaining accessible to the NexusMEDIATION GUI. Billing mediation concerns about XML compliance are also fading: with NexusMEDIATION's flexible archiving, you can trust that what goes in, comes out.

Time-to-Service-Saving GUI

The highly user-friendly GUI shortens your time to service for any new offering, providing you the flexibility that business demands. This powerful configuration tool enables you to build, modify, supervise and eventually retire the "Business Logic" you've employed. All new Business Logic is configured in the GUI and deployed live at runtime. The GUI also significantly simplifies your charging data format handling, which shortens time to service when upgrading your network nodes or introducing new ones. Using the available editing tools in the GUI, you can easily update or modify existing charging data formats and add new ones. Moreover, all those changes can be published dynamically on an ad hoc basis - with no need to reboot the system or worry about related warm-up issues.
