NexusMETER – Raw Data Reporting
Overview
Raw Data Reporting is a prime tool for network operators in the fight to avoid business disruptions within their networks. When a problem occurs, historical reports provide a detailed insight into the problem's cause.
This operational reporting tool provides an easy to use and flexible system. It allows network operations staff to quickly analyze data and to provide detailed reports as required, for both statistical and accounting data stored within the Nexus performance database. Information is made available in the most common output formats (e.g. PDF, CSV, formatted text).
The operator can filter and sort the data records selected in the order of their choice. By creating report extraction templates to define the desired reports, and then running the Report Writer as a batch process, the operator can automate the production of regular reports. Reports can also be generated on demand. The extensive filtering capability allows reporting down to the individual ports, enabling network reporting at the customer level.
Raw Data Reporting can be used to quickly identify potential network performance problems by enabling network operators to perform the following functions:
- Analyze network performance to gain efficiency
- Reveal the utilization of existing network resources
- Track traffic patterns and trends to determine future network improvements
- Determine spare network capacity
- Visualize overall network performance and operational statistics
The historical data browsing functions are used to assist in network analysis processes. This allows service levels to be accurately tuned and bandwidth subscriptions adjusted. Under-utilized circuits can be downsized to save money and over-subscribed circuits upgraded to improve performance.
