Tasks

The technical editor ensures that the users at our customers have available a user-friendly, professionally edited documentation on time with new releases

• Plan, implement and maintain the user and administration manuals as online and as printable versions
• Obtain contributions from product management and engineering
• Obtain illustrations such as pictures, screen shots, drawings
• Ensure appropriate terminology and corporate identity and meet the requirements regarding product liability
• Additionally, the technical editor takes care of the documentation management as well as the intranet for the department.

Educational Requirements

• Degree from an institution specializing in educating training technical editors and writers
• German and very good English (spoken and written)

Experience

• Telecom Technology and Multimedia Data Communication
• Technical editing and writing, at least 5 years experience
• Competent in writing, editing, laying out user documentation ('how-to')
• Familiar with tools such as Adobe FrameMaker and PhotoShop and Microsoft Office Suite, esp. Word, Visio and Powerpoint and taking pictures from hardware components
